You can take our cake, but you can never take our freeeedoooooooom!
Today we made an angel food cake in honor of the 4th of July.
We’ve made angel food cake before. We’ve even made it with food coloring. But this time was a wee bit more complicated. For America!
First we separated the whipped egg whites into 3 different bowls.
Blue and red food coloring were mixed in.
Flour and mini chocolate chips were deftly folded into each bowl. Looks like we’re making a smurf cake! Ewwww.
Layers were expertly added to the pan. I said EXPERTLY!
There it is! Freedom on a plate. Red, white, and blue cake served with red (strawberries), white (whipped cream), and blue(berries.) I guess the chocolate chips represent stars or something? Or maybe we should add chocolate chips to the flag? Anyway, tasty. Very tasty.
